Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall's Wedding
At The Dress we were truely delighted that two of our fabulous designers have played a major role in the recent Royal marriage of Zara Phillips to Mike Tindall.
Firstly, was the amazing gown that Stewart Parvin designed for Zara. Famous for her unconventional dress sense Zara chose on her wedding day to be the quintessential English bride. The dress Stewart created was a pricture of elegant sophistication, a full gown created
in ivory duchess satin and softly ribbed faile. The corseted bodice of the gown ending in dramatic pleats on its dropped waist which sculpted the bride's slim figure, giving a dramatic princess line silhouette. The gown was also given a demure touch that the royal occasion demanded with the gathered silk tulle straps that form a V-shape at the back of the gown, set off by silk buttons down the back of the dress all the way to the end of the train. Bias cut raw-edged ribbons in silk faille and duchess satin decorated the neckline and empire seam below the bust and finished the hem on the dress. Stewart was also responsible for Her Majesty's outfit on the day as well as the Maid of Honour's.
Also Millinery designer Jane Taylor had several of her hats favoured by guests, most notably
The Countess of Wessex who wore a nude petal disc hat created by Jane to match her elegant tailored taupe outfit designed by Bruce Oldfield. At The Dress we have many of Jane's beautiful bridal headpieces in store.
